Research shows there is public support for the Department for Work and Pension’s welfare reforms
GfK NOP carried out qualitative and quantitative research on behalf of the DWP to investigate the public’s views on proposals in the Green Paper "‘No one written off: reforming welfare to reward responsibility”. The vast majority of policy propositions included in the research enjoyed high levels of general public support however; in focus groups participants expressed some concerns about their implementation.

Two thirds of people won’t put money aside for social care in older age
Two thirds of adults in the UK say they have no plans to put money aside to fund social care in older age. Location is key when choosing a school

Amrita Sood presented at the ESOMAR Congress
Amrita Sood from GfK NOP Social Research, along with Krishan Lathigra from COI, presented the findings of the influential qualitative research conducted into experiences of those affected by the 2007 floods. The research was commissioned by COI on behalf of the Cabinet Office, to form a part of the evidence base for the Pitt Review into Lessons Learned from the 2007 floods.

Running
Following on from the success of their 10k run, a group of girls from Social Research competed in the London Run to the Beat half marathon. The team completed the run in an impressisve 2 hours and 16 minutes. If you would like to sponsor them, click here. All sponsorship will go to Leukaemia Research.
Cycling
A team of six GfK NOP employees, including Lisa Endersbee (Research Manager) from GfK NOP Social, rode 54 miles in the 2008 British Heart Foundation London to Brighton bike ride. Sporting an orange GfK NOP tee-shirt, Lisa managed to raise £350. Well done Lisa who completed the ride in good time even though she was knocked off her bike by Superman (well a cyclist dressed as a superhero for the day).
