Transport

GfK NOP carries out a substantial amount of work in the area of transport. Our specialists in transport are based in our Consumer Services division, with the qualitative researchers in Social Research working closely together with them in delivering truly integrated qual/quant studies. Additionally, the qualitative team works with qualitative colleagues who specialise in employee attitudes, to deliver valuable insights to clients such as TfL and DfT.

With regard to road safety, we have conducted studies across the UK exploring attitudes towards dangerous driving and safety cameras. Our research concentrates on interventions to alter driver behaviour and we have carried out research to extend and develop the Department for Transport’s Think! campaign.

We have conducted many studies investigating public transport users’ attitudes towards and satisfaction with transport services. In particular, we have worked with people with disabilities, exploring their transport needs, their attitudes towards using public transport, their information requirements and appropriate ways of communicating transport information to them.
