Data collection at GfK NOP

GfK NOP's generic 'swish' design for Data Collection

With GfK NOP, you can rely on a full range of qualitative and quantitative research services that meet even the most complex requirements - using online, face to face, telephone and postal data collection methods.

And, because we design our global company around small, energetic teams of market and research specialists, we have the flexibility and creativity to tailor our data collection to your individual research needs.

Mobile Surveys
Put simply: a survey that works on a mobile phone. The innovation lies in the programming – so that the survey is delivered in the right format for a mobile phone, or for a combination of phone, operating system, browser and even language choice.

Ideal for: reaching audiences who are always on the move (teenagers, business people, gadget lovers)

‘Cookie & Tag’ – ad effectiveness and efficiency
partnering with nurago, this technology ‘tags’ which members of an online panel have been on a page which was displaying a particular online advertisement or digital communication. Then we can, for example, analyse the survey responses of the exposed and unexposed panel members and use this comparison to derive a measure of ad effectiveness.

Face to face over IP
using readily available technologies such as Skype, Windows Live, Yahoo etc, we conduct face to face interviews over the internet using webcam and microphone. By combining this with screen capture recording at the researcher’s end of the call, we create a record of the interview which is independent of which technology the participant is using to link to the interview.

Video with screen capture
this technology captures an audio video of the respondent using a device (such as a computer, laptop or mobile phone), along with a synchronised image of the screen that they are looking at during the use. You therefore get to see how they physically handle the device, the screen they are looking at - together with any key pad entries or menu selections they make – and also you hear any comments they may make as they are using the device.

Usability via proxy server
Partnering with SirValUse/nurago, this technology causes a website (live or in development stage) to be accessed via another server, so that we can record and analyse the resulting interaction. Participants are normally asked to perform one or more tasks, such as finding a certain piece of information.
